by | Oct 29, 2015 | News

Innovative Automation Inc. is the proud recipient of the 2015 Gold Award for Young Worker Safety, presented on October 28, 2015 at a gala in Toronto. Canada’s Safest Employer Award is presented by Canadian Occupational Safety magazine. Launched in 2011, the awards recognize Canadian companies with outstanding accomplishments in promoting the health and safety of their workers. Companies are judged on a wide range of occupational health and safety elements, including employee training, OHS management systems, incident investigation, emergency preparedness and innovative health and safety initiatives. The winners are recognized every year at a gala event in Toronto in October. The award for Young Worker Safety was added this year to recognize companies with excellent policies in place for their young workers.

This is the third time Innovative has reached the podium with this prestigious recognition. In 2011, Innovative Automation was one of five recipients of the inaugural title award “Canada’s Safest Employer”. In 2013, Innovative Automation received a Silver award for the Manufacturing category of “Canada’s Safest Employer”.

In a message to employees on Oct 29, Innovative Automation President Stephen Loftus says “Winning this award would not be possible without the efforts of every employee, every day. We all have a responsibility to assist each other, ensuring that each one of us goes home at the end of every day as Healthy as when we arrived. With the young worker who is 3 times more likely to have a work place accident, mainly because they are in a new environment and learning new work place policies and procedures as they go, everyone needs to put out an extra effort to direct them in safe method of work. This is a team award for a great team”.
