Manufacturing Automation Careers in an Employee Recommended Workplace

by | Apr 12, 2019 | Articles, News

In May, our team exhibited at Automate 2025 in Detroit, Michigan, where we had the opportunity to demonstrate two of our latest automation technologies: RoboTape, our established robotic taping system, and RoboClip, an automated clip insertion solution making its first public appearance.

Both systems were developed to address specific, recurring challenges in manufacturing—namely, the need for consistency, repeatability, and ergonomic improvement in tape and clip application. Automate provided a practical environment to share how these solutions are already being applied, and where they can go next.

Turning R&D Into Real Solutions

At Innovative Automation, our focus remains on building equipment that meets the demands of modern manufacturing.

RoboTape is already in production environments across various industries, helping teams automate tape application where manual methods fall short. It’s now operating as its own business unit, designed to scale with evolving production needs.

RoboClip, introduced for the first time at Automate, follows the same mindset. It’s a standardized system built to automate the clip insertion process—something that’s often repetitive and physically demanding when done manually. Its development was shaped by feedback from operators and integrators alike, with a focus on simplicity, durability, and ease of integration.

Reflections from Automate 2025

While Automate is known for showcasing new technologies, this year offered more than just product demos. It was a chance to engage directly with manufacturers, engineers, and integration partners who work with these challenges every day.

The conversations we had were thoughtful and direct. Attendees asked the right questions—about compatibility, throughput, cycle time, and integration—and the interest in both RoboTape and RoboClip confirmed that automation for these specific applications is top of mind.

Live demos helped us go beyond features and highlight the real impact of the systems—where they work best, how they fit into existing lines, and what kind of results manufacturers can expect. We also came away with valuable feedback that will help shape our future development.

Why We Showed Up

We participated in Automate because it brings together people who are actively shaping the future of automation—from large-scale manufacturers to independent integrators. The event consistently creates space for serious discussions about real-world applications.

For us, it was the right place to launch RoboClip and continue building on the momentum behind RoboTape. It also reinforced the value of a standardized, modular approach to automation—something that came up often in discussions at our booth.
