Innovative Receives Silver at Canada’s Safest Employers Award Gala

Innovative Automation Inc. is the proud new recipient of a Silver Award for the Manufacturing category of “Canada’s Safest Employers”, presented on October 30, 2013 at a gala in Toronto. Canada’s Safest Employers Award is presented by Canadian Occupational Safety magazine, a Thomson Reuters business. Launched in 2011, the awards recognize Canadian companies with outstanding accomplishments in promoting the health and safety of their workers.

Amanda Silliker, editor of Canadian Occupational Safety:

“Canada’s Safest Employers Awards recognize companies from across Canada that are raising the bar in occupational health and safety. The winning companies represent a wide range of sectors — from hospitality to mining — and have exemplary programs in place to keep their workers safe. We all have the same goal of ensuring workers go home safe at the end of the day, and the awards highlight best practices that health and safety professionals can take back to their own organizations. These awards allow us to shine light on the companies that are leading the way in safety excellence, and hopefully inspire others to follow their example.”

This award is particularly exciting for Innovative Automation, as one of five recipients of the inaugural “Canada’s Safest Employer” award in 2011. This second-time award validates that the Occupational Health and Safety Management system implemented by Innovative Automation in 2010 is a valuable and essential component of daily safety at Innovative.”

Stephen Loftus, General Manager at Innovative Automation:

“This is a huge honour for Innovative Automation. Safety has always been the first priority in everything we do, from morning meetings to quarterly “What’s New” meetings. Communication is the key to success. We have 60 employees who know that my door is always open, and that I will respond to any safety concern. I’m an active member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee, and we take our role in the WSIB Safety Group sponsored by EMC Canada very seriously”.
