Showcasing Ontario’s Manufacturing Future: A Visit from Minister Stephen Crawford and MPP Andrea Khanjin

This week, Innovative Automation proudly welcomed Ontario’s Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement, Stephen Crawford, and MPP for Barrie-Innisfil, Andrea Khanjin, for a firsthand look at how we’re shaping the future of Ontario advanced manufacturing.

Their visit wasn’t just a ceremonial stop—it was a powerful example of how government leadership and Ontario-based innovation can work together to strengthen the Canadian manufacturing sector and drive economic growth across the country.

Minister Stephen Crawford and MPP Andrea Khanjin tour Innovative Automation’s facility while observing an Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) in operation, showcasing advanced manufacturing technology in Ontario.

Driving Local Innovation with Global Impact

As a Canadian manufacturer specializing in custom automation solutions, IAI has built a reputation for designing, engineering, and integrating cutting-edge systems that fuel the Ontario advanced manufacturing sector.

During the visit, we showcased two of our most impactful innovations:

RoboTape™ — the world’s most advanced robotic tape application system, optimized for 3M™ VHB™ Tapes.

RoboClip™ — a unique automation solution for clip insertion in high-volume manufacturing environments.

Both solutions, developed by our in-house R&D engineering team, represent the kind of export-ready technology that positions Ontario and Canada as leaders in the global manufacturing marketplace.

Creating High-Value Jobs and Strengthening the Economy

The benefits of Ontario advanced manufacturing extend far beyond improved efficiency. At IAI, our work helps create high-value careers in engineering, programming, robotics integration, and skilled trades—roles that are critical for building a resilient, future-focused Canadian workforce.

During their tour, Minister Crawford and MPP Khanjin emphasized the importance of supporting innovative companies like IAI to ensure Ontario manufacturing remains competitive and adaptable in a rapidly evolving global economy.

A Shared Vision for Canadian Competitiveness

This visit reflects a shared vision: local innovation driving global impact. By connecting Ontario advanced manufacturing leaders with government decision-makers and international partners like 3M, we are building a stronger, smarter, and more competitive Canadian economy.

We thank Minister Crawford and MPP Khanjin for their recognition and support. Together, we will continue to grow Ontario’s role as a global hub for advanced manufacturing and automation.
